Wiz Stars LA

The purpose of this project is to give children with challenges an opportunity to gain dance skills and feel a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment when performing hip-hop dance choreographed routines in front of community audiences. It also provides the children with a chance to learn social skills and teamwork while expanding their potential and helping them grow. Siblings are also welcome to participate in this program to enjoy dancing together.

The name “WizStars” was coined by blending the name of our great supporter, “Wismettac”*, who has given us a grant to make this program possible, and “stars,” believing all our children are truly “stars” in their own ways and shine brightly and uniquely.

* Shirakiku Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc.

このプロジェクトの目的は、障がいを持つ子供たちがダンスを通じてスキルの習得、充実感を味わう事の出来る環境を作り、社会性やチームワークを学び、その中で子供達の可能性を引き出し、成長の手助けとなる事にあります。コミュニティーにおけるパフォーマンスや舞台経験を積むことで達成感や自信を増やすことも可能になります。

また障がいを持たない兄弟姉妹も参加することで共に楽しめる機会にもなります。

このWizStarsの名前はシラキク基金の親会社であるWismettac Asian Food, Inc.とダンスを通じて子供たちが輝く’スター‘であることから名付けられました。
